The aftermath of
Hurricane Mitch along with the continued regional flooding has left many
associates lacking the basic necessities for survival. Educational institutions
suffered along with the rest of the communities and lacked the materials to
properly educate the schoolchildren.

To help fill the void
left by the aforementioned disasters, We Care worked with the local Education
Directors to identify specific areas to be of assistance for the children of
these families. One basic need identified is school supplies that are not
otherwise provided by the system, including items such as colored pencils,
rulers, dictionaries and storybooks.
We Care
committed to donate funding for these supplies for the children in the Honduran
and Guatemalan farms' school systems for the 2000 school year.
